Browser extension & bookmarklet
We have not published a browser extension, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we do have is a bookmarklet that works in every desktop browser today.

PinSaveHD has no browser extension. Instead, a free bookmarklet (a saved bookmark with a tiny script) sends the pin you are viewing to the PinSaveHD downloader in one click. Drag it to your bookmarks bar; nothing is installed and it cannot read other tabs.
The PinSaveHD bookmarklet
A bookmarklet is a bookmark that runs a tiny piece of code instead of opening a page. Ours takes the address of the pin you are looking at and opens PinSaveHD with it. It cannot read anything else, needs no permissions and can be deleted like any bookmark.
Install it
- Show the bookmarks bar: Ctrl+Shift+B (Windows/Chromebook) or Cmd+Shift+B (Mac).
- Drag the red button above onto the bar.
- Open any pin on pinterest.com and click the bookmark.
Mobile
Bookmarklets are awkward on phones. Use the share menu instead: Share → Copy link, then paste into PinSaveHD. Adding PinSaveHD to your home screen (Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen; Chrome: menu → Add to Home screen) gives it an app-like icon.
Will there be an extension?
Possibly. If we publish one, it will be listed here with a link to the official browser store. Be wary of extensions using our name that are not linked from this page.
Questions, answered
Short answers about saving public Pinterest content.
Is there a PinSaveHD app?
No native app. The website works in every mobile browser and can be added to your home screen.
Is the bookmarklet safe?
It only reads the current page address and opens our site with it. You can inspect its code by editing the bookmark.
