Video Quality and Formats
You get the same file Pinterest stores. We show its real size and never relabel it.
HD, Full HD, 2K and 4K availability
Most videos top out at 720p (HD); some reach 1080p (Full HD). 2K or 4K only appears if the original upload had it, which is rare. We never upscale a file or call it “4K”.
Why some Pins have lower resolution
- The creator uploaded a small or old video.
- Pinterest kept only smaller copies.
- The Pin came from a site with a small version.
No tool can add detail that isn’t in the file.

Download only content you own or have permission to use
Saving an idea for yourself is usually fine. Reposting, editing or using it in ads needs the owner’s OK. The Image Source Finder helps you credit them.

Troubleshooting: Download Not Working?
Most problems have a quick fix. Start at the top.

The link is private or the Pin was deleted
Open the link in a private window where you’re logged out. If the Pin doesn’t show, it can’t be saved.

You copied a board or profile link instead of a Pin link
A Pin link has /pin/ or pin.it in it. For a board, use the Board Downloader.

The video opens instead of downloading (iPhone fix)
Safari may play the MP4 in a tab. Tap Share → Save to Files. On a computer, right-click → Save video as.

Can’t find the downloaded file
Check Downloads (Files › Downloads on iPhone). Your browser’s download list shows the newest file first.

Slow connection or ad blocker issues
Big videos take longer on slow networks. Pause strict blockers for this site and refresh. “Too many requests” means wait 60 seconds.

Is it free to download Pinterest videos?
Yes. PinSaveHD is completely free. There is no sign-up, no paid plan and no watermark. To keep the service fast for everyone, there is a fair-use limit of about 30 lookups a minute per visitor. If you hit it, just wait a minute and try again.
Do I need an account or app?
No. You do not need a PinSaveHD account, a Pinterest login or any app. PinSaveHD is a website, so it works in Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other modern browsers on phones, tablets and computers. Just paste a public Pin link and download.
Can I download in 1080p, 2K or 4K?
You get the best file Pinterest stores for that Pin. Most videos top out at 720p and some reach 1080p. 2K or 4K only exists if the original upload was that sharp, which is rare. We show the real size and never upscale or relabel a file as “4K”.
Can I download private Pins or boards?
No. PinSaveHD only works with public Pins, boards and profiles that anyone can see without logging in. Private boards, secret boards and deleted Pins cannot be saved. We never ask for your Pinterest password, so we cannot see anything that is hidden behind a login.
Where are downloaded files saved?
Your browser decides, but these are the usual places:
- Android: the Downloads folder, and videos also show in Gallery or Google Photos.
- iPhone and iPad: Safari saves to Files › Downloads.
- Windows, Mac and Chromebook: the Downloads folder.
How do I save Pinterest videos to my iPhone camera roll?
Download the video in Safari. Then open the Files app, go to Downloads and tap the video. Tap the Share button and choose Save Video. It now appears in the Photos app. If the video opens in a tab instead, tap Share there and choose Save to Files.
Do you add a watermark?
No. PinSaveHD never adds a watermark, logo or text to your files. You get the same file that Pinterest serves for that Pin. If you see a watermark, the creator added it to the original video or image, and we do not remove it, because it belongs to them.
Do you store my links or files?
No files are stored. Videos and images stream from Pinterest’s servers straight to your device. Pin links are cached in memory for about 10 minutes to stay fast, then dropped. We keep no download history. Basic server logs are kept up to 14 days for security, as our privacy policy explains.
Is downloading Pinterest videos legal?
This is general information, not legal advice. Saving a public video for personal viewing is usually low risk, but the creator still owns the copyright. Reposting, editing or using it for business needs their permission. Read our copyright and responsible use section for more details.
Why is the video quality low?
The quality depends on what the creator uploaded and what Pinterest kept. Many Pins only have a 720p or smaller file. If the original was low quality, every copy will be too. We always list the largest file available and show its real size so you can pick the best one.
Can I download Pinterest GIFs and images too?
Yes. PinSaveHD detects the Pin type for you. Image Pins save as the original JPG, PNG or WebP, not the small preview. GIF Pins save as a .gif, and often a smaller looping MP4 too. Idea Pins and carousels give you one file per page or slide.
How do I contact support?
Email PinSaveHD@proton.me or use our contact page. Tell us the Pin link, your device and browser, and the exact error message. That helps us fix it quickly. For copyright requests, please use the DMCA page instead.
