TL;DR

On Android, Chrome saves Pinterest downloads to the Downloads folder and they appear in Gallery. On iPhone, Safari saves to Files › Downloads and you move them to Photos with Share → Save. Both need only a browser: copy link, paste, download.

Phones handle downloads differently, and most confusion comes from not knowing where the file went. This side-by-side guide explains both platforms.

Android

Use Chrome, Samsung Internet or Firefox. After you tap Download, the file goes into the Downloads folder and normally shows up in Google Photos or Gallery within seconds. If it does not, open the Files app, find the MP4 and tap it once — the media scanner then indexes it.

iPhone and iPad

Safari (iOS 13 and later) supports direct downloads. A blue arrow appears in the address bar; tap it to see the file. Videos land in Files › On My iPhone › Downloads. To put one in Photos, open it, tap Share and choose Save Video. Images can be long-pressed and saved directly.

Which is quicker?

Android needs one fewer step because downloads go into a folder the gallery already watches. On iPhone the extra Share step is a one-time habit.

Saving data and storage

  • Pick the smallest resolution that still looks good on a phone — 720p is plenty for a 6-inch screen.
  • Use the thumbnail downloader if you only need a still frame.
  • For several pins at once, the bulk downloader can pack them into a ZIP.
