TL;DR

To embed Pinterest content, copy the pin, board or profile link, generate the embed HTML with Pinterest’s official widget and paste it into your page. Load the pinit.js script once per page. The content stays hosted by Pinterest with credit intact.

Embedding is the respectful way to show a pin on your site: the creator keeps credit, the pin stays linked to Pinterest, and you do not host the file.

What you can embed

  • A single pin — small, medium or large.
  • A board — a scrollable grid of its latest pins.
  • A profile — the user’s recent pins.

The code

Pinterest’s widget is an <a> tag with a data-pin-do attribute plus one script, pinit.js. Our embed code generator builds the right snippet from any link and shows a live preview.

Performance tips

  • Load pinit.js once per page, at the end of the body.
  • Do not embed many boards on one page; each fetches its own data.
  • Use a static image with a link instead if your page must stay very light.

WordPress and site builders

Most builders accept a custom HTML block. Paste the snippet there; Gutenberg also has a Pinterest embed block that accepts a plain pin URL.
